Professor at the Cardozo Law School in New York, where he is Director of the Program on Global and Comparative Constitutional Theory. Founder and editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Constitutional Law (I-CON), and former President of the International Association of Constitutional Law.
He is the author of several books, including: Deconstruction and the possibility of Justice, of 2003, and The Identity of the Constitutional Subject: Selfhood, Citizenship, Culture, and Community (Discourses of Law), of 2010.
