Charles Manga FOMBAD is a Professor of constitutional law and Head of the Department of Public Law, University of Pretoria. He has published 6 books and more than 70 articles in international refereed journals and edited books and has received several awards.

He is a member of the international advisory board of the International Encyclopaedia of Laws and the editorial boards of the African Journal of International Affairs, the Constitutional Court Review (South Africa), the CALS Review of Nigerian Law and Practice, the Botswana Review of Ethics, Law and HIV/AIDS (BRELA), the City University of Hong Kong Law Review and the BIAC Journal of Business, Management and Training, as well as founding Editor-in-Chief of the University of Botswana Law Journal (UBLJ).

He is the Publications Secretary of the Organisation for Social Science Research in Eastern and Southern Africa (OSSREA Botswana Chapter), a member of the Coordinating Committee of the African Network of Constitutional Law, a member of the Executive Committee of the International Association of Constitutional Law, and the convenor of the working group on the teaching of constitutional law within African Network of Constitutional Lawyers.
